Imagine being a shunned leper in ancient times, or one of India's untouchables even today.  Good thing we're not that cruel to anyone, right?

Building on the sand was so quick, so easy.  Then the weather changed.

Long before the pot ever called the kettle black, Jesus had diagnosed our hypocritical follies to a T.

When the Psalmist thanked God for turning his mourning into dancing (Ps. 30:11), was he responding to affairs of state or affairs of the soul?

"He looked for a city that has foundations, whose builder and maker is God." - Hebrews 11:10

Imagine if I was half as attentive all day long to God's word in Scripture as I am to this little screen on my phone.

I get to choose which enemies to love and how much, right? Because Abraham bargained with God over Sodom, right?

"Without shedding of blood is no remission." - Hebrews 9:22

"Let justice run down like waters," quoted Dr. King from Amos 5:24 in his August 1963 speech, "and righteousness like a mighty stream." Never forget it was Christianity that impelled the civil rights revolution.

Is my salt savory or spoiled? Is my light bright or dim? Will my conduct today delight Jesus or dismay him?

When Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth, he didn't say when or how. It's not yet evident in politics, sports, or even religion. Mysteries abound.
