Bible Thursday 2/26: The Remnant

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 141:1-10. Verse 3, asking God to keep watch over all my talk. Reviewing yesterday, what things did I say that grieved God and reflected poorly on my Christian faith? How can I do better today?

Jeremiah 13:1-27. God has Jeremiah symbolically act out the sins of Israel that have separated them from Him. When have my actions bitterly disappointed the Lord? What did I learn and who can I share it with?

Romans 11:1-10. God’s remnant, saved by grace. What does he expect of me today by way of gratitude and faithfulness?

Matthew 12:33-37. Is the fruit I am bringing forth today good or corrupt? Are the treasures of my heart, expressed today in words and deeds, good or evil? Over all, am I making Jesus glad or sad right now?
