Bible Tuesday 3/3: Shut Him Up

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1:1-6. Verse 2, how shall I go about meditating on God day and night? Is it even possible? What is the reward for doing so?

Jeremiah 18:1-23. Verse 18ff, the Jewish leaders conspire to silence Jeremiah and harm him. What has been the cost of discipleship for me so far? Am I prepared for the cost to become much higher?

Romans 13:1-7. Paul says God commands Christians to respect, uphold, and obey civil government. Does my church pay too much attention to politics, or too little, or about right? What’s at stake?

Matthew 13:18-23. Jesus explains his parable of the sower. What specific situations do I often get into, where the good seed of God’s word isn’t able to flourish and bear fruit? Action point for today?
