Bible Monday 2/9: But God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 102:1-28. Verses 11-17, what am I struggling with this day, to which I can confidently and decisively reply, “But God”—?

Deuteronomy 29:1-29. What are the false gods and idols I must reject and resist in order that my covenant relationship with the one true God endures unbroken today?

Romans 4:1-12. What does it look like for me to walk in faith day by day, as Abraham did and as David did after him? Receiving from God grace that I did not earn, how shall I thank him and pay it forward?

Matthew 9:14-17. Am I all in for Jesus, or just halfway in, playing it safe? What’s the new model of a groom and his bride that Jesus wants me to embrace? What’s the new robe he wants me to wear and the new wine he wants me to drink?
