Bible Saturday 2/7: Wonderful News

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 94:1-23. Verses 11-13, what chastening is God giving me at this season of my life? Am I cooperating or resisting? What good outcome awaits me if I keep faith? Action point for today?

Deuteronomy 27:1-26. Memorial stones for God’s commandments to be set up when Israel crosses the Jordan. What is my discipline or practice to keep pace with the Lord in these busy times?

Romans 3:1-20. Verse 9 ff, sin enslaves Jew and Gentile alike, none can save themselves. What is the danger in going through my days thinking I’m a pretty good person, better than most, and God actually owes me?

Matthews 9:1-8. Related. The answer to man’s sin problem, the only answer, is the forgiveness that Jesus alone can give. What am I asking him to do for me today, spiritually and materially?
