Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 89:1-52. Verse 6, who or what do I tend to place on a par with God, as sharing in his power over my life and our world? How shall I correct that today, giving him all glory alone?
Deuteronomy 25:1-19. Verses 17-19, have I been tolerating any little strongholds for the enemies of God in my heart and mind, leftovers from before I followed Christ? How shall I totally break with those, starting now?
Romans 2:1-16. Verse 4, how has experience shown me that the goodness of God leads us to repentance? Who needs to hear about this from me today?
Matthew 8:23-27. What stormy and scary situation do I need to have Jesus rebuke and put to silence right now? For starters, shall I obediently navigate this day with more faith and less fear?
