Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 131:1-3. What would it look like today if i could find ways to be more humble, meek, modest, and gentle? How would others benefit? Why would it please God?
Jeremiah 40:1-16. Jeremiah is set at liberty in the conquered land, but dissension boils among the defeated Jews. When have I felt impatient with God and tried to be a law unto myself? What did I learn?
Hebrews 2:5-18. When the Scripture says that Jesus is my elder brother, what does that mean I can expect of him? What does he expect of me?
Luke 1:26-38. Mary says yes to the special call that God has put on her life. What call has God put on me at this particular time of life? What will obedience cost me? Shall say I yes and get on with it?
