Bible Sunday 5/3: Fool's Gold

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 2:1-12. Verse 12, kiss the Son. What would it look like for me to live this day sold out for Jesus, no matter what the cost or the risk?

Ezekiel 24:1-27. Bereaved of his wife but forbidden to mourn, Ezekiel is made an object lesson to the people of Israel. Today how can I devote myself less to lamenting personal hardship and more to repenting of sins?

I Corinthians 7:20-31. Verses 29-31, the time is short, the fashion of this world passes away. If Jesus comes back today, what do I want him to find me doing?

John 7:25-39. Verses 37 and 38, who is someone I know—outside my own family—that drinks deeply of Christ’s living water and then pours it out for others? How can I be more like that person today?
