Bible Tuesday 5/5: But Love

Studying this morning's readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 9:1-20. Verses 7-10, God the righteous judge of all the earth. What are the rampant injustices, great and small, near and far, that I will pray God to set right today?

Ezekiel 26:1-21. God punishes Tyre for having wronged Jerusalem. Today am I with the sovereign Lord and his people, or against them? Am I clear there is no third way? What actions will prove my claim?

I Corinthians 8:1-13. In all my dealings with others today, what would it look like if I am less absorbed with myself and more concerned with sharing the love of Christ?

John 8:1-11. Related, when was I tempted to cast the first stone but sought instead to respond in Jesus’ way, the way of compassion?
