Psalms 1:1-6. Verses 1 and 2, thinking back on things I have said or thought during the past 24 hours, which ones were pleasing to God, and which ones fell far short?
II Kings 23:1-37. King Josiah makes a sweeping purge of Judah’s idolatry, but after he dies in battle his two weak sons let evil engulf the land again. Any resemblance to the downfall of once-great institutions in our own time?
II Corinthians 8:1-15. Verse 9, Jesus though rich, became poor for my sake, that I might become rich. But don’t I still “think poor” much of the time, especially when my generosity is called upon?
Luke 5:33-39. Does my faith sometimes seem like a patchwork of godly truths and worldly superstitions? What would it look like if I honored Jesus by wearing a new coat of his choosing, starting today?
