Bible Wednesday 3/18: The Soul's Thirst

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 1, what are the symptoms that show I have a thirst in my soul that only God can satisfy? How can I tell when that thirst is being slaked?

Jeremiah 33:1-26. Jeremiah, still in prison, is given God’s word of restoration sure to come for Israel. When have I had to patiently wait for God to fulfill his promises?

I Timothy 5:1-16. Instructions for how Christians should treat widows and the poor in their church bodies. Could my church be doing more for the less fortunate, rather than depending on government?

Matthew 16:13-20. Who do you say I am, Jesus asks the disciples. Who needs to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ from me today? What am I waiting for?
