Bible Wednesday 7/1: Saddle Up

Studying this morning's readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 149:1-9. Verse 4, meekness before God is a condition of salvation. What are some practical ways I could think and act more meekly today?

II Samuel 6:1 -23. Why was Michal so unhappy with David’s fervent worship as the ark of God entered Jerusalem? Is my approach to the faith more like his or hers?

Acts 12:20—13:3. The Holy Spirit directs Barnabas and Paul to leave Antioch for a new mission field. How open am I to new orders—perhaps way outside my comfort zone—from Jesus about how to spread his gospel?

Mark 6:1-6. Today how can I come to the Lord Jesus with fresh eyes and ears, more ready to recognize his majesty and more eager to companion with him—no matter what others say (see: David dancing before the ark)?
