Bible Thursday 10/20: Perverse Nation

Psalm 37:1-40. Seeking to be faithful, not fretful (verses 1, 7, 8, KJV), can I jot down a one-line spiritual stopper to still my worrying about things like family, health, finances, or the news?

Nehemiah 7:1-73. Thinking of the sacred genealogies given here, how can I see different facets of God's image in each of my own family members and relatives?

Philippians 2:12-18. By what specific actions today can I reflect Christ's light into the dark places of this "crooked and perverse nation" (verse 15, KJV)?

Luke 14:7-14. On Jesus' command for us to embrace those who need the most, who are hurting the most, what are some ways my church now does that, and some ways we could do better?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the  St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think. Where is your self-examination leading today?
