Bible Saturday 10/22: Savory Salt

Psalm 32:1-11. Are there ways in which I am mulishly stubborn and willful (verse 9)? How can I be less so today?

Nehemiah 9:1-38. Do my petitions to God need more of the grateful preamble about who he is and what he has done for me, seen in the two dozen verses leading up to “Now therefore” in verse 32 KJV?

Philippians 3:1-11. What human credentials of mine must I take care to “count it all loss” in leaning on Christ alone?

Luke 14:25-35. What does Jesus mean by speaking of my spiritual salt (verse 34)? Reviewing the past week, would people who dealt with me say my salt had a lot of savor, a little, or none?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
