Bible Sunday 12/4: Eat the Book

Psalm 149:1-9. Verses 5 and following seem to address both the church triumphant and the church militant. How well are both embodied by Christians today and my local church in particular?

Isaiah 39:1-8. What lesson about spiritual discretion and indiscretion can I draw from Hezekiah's unwise conduct here?

Revelation 10:1-11. How can I do still more to feed on God's word in Scripture (verses 9-10) and fully digest both its sweet and bitter teachings?

Luke 22:63-71. Why does worldly power, often including religious leaders, so hate God the Father and Christ the Son? (Same question we pondered with Psalm 2 several days ago.)

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
