Saturday 9/3: Dare to Dance

Psalm 30:1-12. What blessings from the Father should I be rejoicing and dancing over today (verses 5, 11), never taking his lavish generosity for granted?

Job 10:1-22. Since we serve, as Francis Schaeffer wrote in a book title, The God Who Is There, how can I be more blunt and bold with him about my troubles, as Job is in this chapter?

I Timothy 6:13-21. Concluding a couple of weeks' study through this letter, how can I emulate Paul's mentoring of Timothy as I befriend younger Christians? Am I sometimes guilty of discounting their youth (see chapter 4, verse 12)?

Luke 5:33-39. Where in my life and work and thought am I perhaps trying to patch the old coat, reuse the old wineskins, missing out by only going halfway with Jesus?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the  St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Where is your self-examination leading today?
