Bible Wednesday 1/25: Leper Made Clean

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 119:49-72. Who are my three closest friends in the faith (verse 63)? What spiritual excellence do I admire in each of them? Do they know of my admiration? How do I repay their friendship?

Genesis 25:1-34. What experience have I of sibling issues or other family tensions (if milder than Jacob and Esau)?  What has God taught me along the way? Any action points here?

Hebrews 11:23-29.  When have I tasted the reproach of Christ (verse 26, KJV) -- again, perhaps mild? What spiritual riches or reward did it bring?

Matthew 8:1-4.  What is the equivalent of touching a leper in my social, cultural, and religious setting?  Have I dared this taboo, or could I? Is there an occasion this very day?
