Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 103:1-22. Verse 20, since God's angels do what he tells them, exactly how would I pray their presence and activity to be manifested for me and others today?
II Chronicles 9:1-31. Spiritually, what does the queen's visit symbolize about how God wants the world to regard his earthly representatives? In view of this, are my church and I aiming high enough?
James 1:21-27. Verses 23-25, spiritually, what is my mirror for self-knowledge? How can I use it better today? Studying the Bible, how can I be more of a hearer who follows through?
Luke 13:10-17. Verse 15,, what would Jesus say about a culture more sympathetic to animal pain than fetal pain? What else could I and my church be doing to protect the unborn?
