Bible Friday 1/5: Fruit

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 29:1-11. The Psalmist perceives God's voice everywhere, not verbally but as unspoken power.  Where can I perceive that today, and rejoice in it?

Deuteronomy 8:1-20. Verses 17-18, what good things in my life am I tempted to see as my own doing rather than God's gift? Action point?

Hebrews 5:5-14. What's actually involved for me as a Christian to feed more on meat and less on milk? Does my church have a role in this? Who can be a model or mentor for me?

Luke 3:7-20. Verses 8-9, what fruit for God and man am I bringing forth right now? What's my specific goal for doing better? What tree in the orchard of my life just needs cutting down?
