Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 140:1-13. Who is there, near or far, that may be imagining mischief against me right now? Specifically how does God protectively cover my head against this? (Verses 2 & 7, KJV)
Proverbs 5:1-23. When have I had regret and remorse, that "should have known better" moment with God (verses 11-13)? How did it turn out? What did I learn?
Romans 9:22-33. In what ways might I be seeking righteousness by works instead of by faith? A small stone can cause a big stumble (verses 31-33).
Matthew 13:31-35. Can I sense Kingdom yeast at work in me, my family, my church, my country (verse 33)? What words describe the substance of that leaven? What words describe its effect?
