Bible Tuesday 2/21: More than Conquerors

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 123:1-4. Again as it was a few days ago, here's the idea of myself as a servant, lackey, or even slave to God my master (verse 2). Can I break my pride that much, just for the next five minutes?

Proverbs 2:1-22. What spiritual gains might I make if I approached the knowledge of God as I approach money: working as hard for it, spending and saving it as thoughtfully, investing it as protectively (verses 4-5)?

Romans 8:31-39. If the dramatic things in verses 35-37 aren't trying to separate me from the love of Christ right now, what are some subtle and everyday things that may be trying to do that?

Matthew 13:10-17.  On a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) for heart, eyes, and ears receptive to Jesus' message, where am I now? Where was I five years ago? Where do I want to be five years from now?
