Bible Tuesday 2/28: Grafted In

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 26:1-12.  In what area of my life do I least want God's searching examination? Am I confident enough of his love to invite it anyway? Have I really any choice (verses 2-3)?

Proverbs 9:1-18. When have I accepted rebuke and benefited? When have I ignored it and regretted (verse 8)?

Romans 11:11-21. Thinking about Paul's hope that the Jews (God's olive tree) wouldn't forever reject Jesus, how would God have me regard Jews and relate with them in my life today?

Matthew 14:1-12. What have I as a Christian to learn from the life, death, and ministry of John the Baptist?
