Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 119:121-144. Does the way I use my financial resources prove to any inquirer that I love God's commandments more than gold (verse 127)? Action point?
Ecclesiastes 10:1-20. If someone closely observed all my thoughts and actions for a week, what flies would they see in the ointment of my life (verse 1)? Action point?
Galatians 3:15-29. Where do I fall short of the loving inclusiveness and impartiality with which Jesus views his own (verse 28)?
Matthew 20:20-34. Am I more inclined to enlist my ambition and aspiration into serving Jesus, or to enlist him into serving me?
