Bible Thursday 3/9: Nine Names

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 60:1-12. What are some trouble spots in current news that I can affirm God is sovereign over, comparable to the nine places and nations he names in verses 6-8?

Proverbs 18:1-24. How susceptible am I to giving and receiving gossip (verse 8)? Today can I consciously counter that with a quick word of prayer, spoken or silent?

Romans 15:1-13. Who do I know that is bearing a heavy load, some part of which I could help them carry today (verse 1)?

Matthew 15:32-39. If every time I gave thanks over food, it was with remembrance of Jesus feeding the four thousand, what new power and plenty might come into my life?
