Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 63:1-11. How much do I really thirst for God (verse 1)? What if I pause a moment and drink him in, every time I sip a beverage today?
Exodus 14:1-31. What deep water obstructs my path in life right now, no bridge, no boat to get me across? Do I trust the God who parted the Red Sea to open a way for me?
Hebrews 11:23-39. Whose faith got them across dry shod, that of the whole people or of Moses only (verse 29)? When has another's strong faith covered for my weak faith?
John 5:25-30. On what important matter today am I tempted to seek my own will, not God's will (verse 30)? How shall I counteract that?
