Bible Sunday 4/16: Christ is Risen

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 118:1-29. How does the hymn of God's mercy enduring forever (verses 1,2,3,4,29) connect the risen Lord Jesus to a specific need in my life today?

Song of Solomon 1:1-17. Why does the lectionary give us this to read on Easter morning? If I am uneasy or puzzled with it, what might I be missing about the resurrection's full meaning?

Mark 16:1-8. What difference would others notice in me this week if I were more like these women in their eagerness to be near the man Jesus and their trembling amazement that he rose?

Mark 16:9-20. What got into the disciples from their unbelief in verses 11-14 to their burning zeal in verse 20? How can I partake of that?
