Bible Friday 5/12: Unshakable Kingdom

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 40:1-17. "I read your letter about me, and I'm coming to the party you're throwing for me," is how The Message gives verses 7-8. What fresh intimacy with God can this put into my day?

Exodus 19:1-25. Assuming the priestly holiness God widely offers in verse 6 is available to Christians now, what obligations and opportunities confront me -- and my church?

Hebrews 12:18-29. If I took seriously the distinction in verses 27-28, between an unshakable kingdom and the removal of all else, how radically might it change my way of life?

John 6:30-41. To partake of Jesus as God's true bread from heaven all day today, what specific thoughts and actions are expected of me?
