Bible Sunday 6/11: Distrust Princes

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 146:1-10. Verse 3, in what way do I rely too much on political leaders and other prominent persons? Prayer point for today?

Leviticus 6:1-30. Verse 2 KJV, how do I define my soul? What is the state of my soul right now? Do I give enough thought to souls, mine and other people's? Prayer point?

Acts 4:32-37 & 9:26-31 & 11:19-26. Why did the early church confer sainthood on Barnabas? Among Christians I know, who is like him? What qualities of his shall I emulate today?

John 17:1-26. Verse 3, if eternal life is mine right now, not just after death, how does that make today different? Verses 14-18, to be in the world but not of it, what's required of me?
