Bible Monday 7/17: All Souls

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 25:1-22. Verses 1, 13, 20, David prays for his soul. What is the state of my soul today? Do I even know? Why am I so out of touch with my own soul? Action point?

Numbers 15:1-41. Verses 27-30, further on the same point, why do we no longer speak of persons as souls? If I did this, how would my attitude toward others change? Action point?

Acts 14:1-7. In Paul's missionary work, why was the good news of Jesus so often resisted as bad news? How does that resistance occur today? Does some of it infect my own soul?

Mark 7:1-16. Verse 15, further again, how do I sometimes make this very mistake and get godliness backward? A resolve for this week?
