Bible Monday 7/10: Aflame

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 1:1-6. Verse 1, looking at the three things the godly person avoids, what's an example of each that might ensnare me by stealth? Action point for today?

Numbers 8:1-26. Verses 2-4, even if holy candles aren't lit in my church or home, what flame of God's presence should I always keep burning in my spiritual life?

Acts 11:27 - 12:4. Verses 29-30, does it matter to God that welfare is now mainly handled by the state, not the church? What is my church doing to reclaim that ancient role? Action point?

Mark 4:35-41. Verse 40, in what area do I have more fear than faith? Verse 38, am I tempted to think Jesus doesn't even care? Prayer point for today?
