Bible Friday 8/25: Torn

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 141:1-10. Verse 3, in praying God to guard my speech, what weaknesses or tendencies do I especially want to curb?

Joshua 18:1-28. Sacred geography: As God in these chapters assigns his people to their exact places on the land, what instances of such placement have I experienced?

Acts 24:10-21. Verse 14, what pulls us to worship the God of our fathers? How and why have I done so, or not? Prayer point?

Mark 14:53-65. Verse 54 reminds us Peter was trying to be brave that awful night before fear undid him. When have I been torn that way? What did I learn?
