Bible Wednesday 8/23: Asleep

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 119:145-176. How many times a day do I formally and purposefully praise God or pray to him? Action point?

Joshua 16:1-10. Why do this and nearby chapters matter now that neither the tribes nor most of the places any longer exist? What do these detailed land grants say of the character of God?

Acts 23:23-35. Similar question for this passage, which reads like a police report. Any hints about how the divine order of things touches us humanly by God's grace?

Mark 14:32-42. How does sleepiness of mind or body tend to separate me from Jesus? What is the antidote? Prayer point?
