Bible Tuesday 9/5: Every Remembrance

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 36:1-12. Verse 8 KJV, when God invites us to drink from the river of his pleasures, what exactly are those? How often do I imbibe them? What worldly counterfeits do they replace?

Judges 5:1-31. Among Christians today, what is the equivalent of a victory song such as this? What value has it? Do I do enough of this? Does my church? Action point?

Philippians 1:1-11. Who are three persons outside my family for whom can I pray an "every remembrance" (verse 3 KJV) petition like this? What one verse matches best to each of them?

Luke 3:23-38. Why does Jesus' ancestry, back through Abraham to Adam, matter if Joseph didn't actually father him?  In what way does my human ancestry matter or not?
