Bible Thursday 1/25: Patience

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 50:1-23. Verse 3, what noise and fire and tempest is God bringing right now? That is, what big things is he doing in our world in 2018? How can I participate more actively in those?

Deuteronomy 28:1-68. Verse 14 KJV, in current events am I so caught up with right vs. left that I forget God's demand, obey vs. disobey? How much do right and left matter to God?

Hebrews 10:32-39. Verses 36-38, what most tests my patience and persistence at this point in life? Were I to waver and draw back from God's will, what form would it take? Prayer point?

Matthew 8:14-17. Verse 16, do I take the demonic as seriously as Jesus did? How are such forces disguised in our modern experience? What's my defense plan for spiritual warfare?
