Bible Monday 2/5: Kingdom

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 77:1-20. Verse 3, what is my sorest complaint to God right now? Verse 11, what is my sweetest reminder of his unfailing love for me and mine? Prayer point?

Jeremiah 5:1-31. Verse 31, in what way have today's Christians welcomed and rewarded lax leadership or false teaching? Have I participated? What's the consequence?

Romans 1:1-17. Verse 16, what subtle influences have sometimes made me act as if I'm ashamed of the gospel of Christ? What can I specifically do today to push back at that?

Matthew 10:1-15. Verse 7, is the kingdom of heaven more at hand now than in Jesus' time, or less so, or the same? What difference will it make to me today? What am I doing about it?
