Bible Saturday 1/20: Golden Rule

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 30:1-12. Verses 6-8, when has adversity shaken me out of human complacency to realize my need of God and seek him again? What did I learn? Application for today?

Deuteronomy 23:1-25. Verses 21-23, when have I broken my promise to God? What was the result? Did he forgive it? Did he forget it?

Hebrews 9:23-28. Verse 28, what's my conception of Christ's return? How much does it influence the way I live and think this day, this year? Is my church attuned to this?

Matthew 7:7-12. Verse 12, what's one specific thing I could start doing, or stop doing, that would align my conduct more closely to the Golden Rule?
