Bible Wednesday 2/21: Two Selves

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:49-72. Verses 67 and 71, how has affliction drawn me closer to God? Application for challenges I'm facing now?

Jeremiah 21:1-14. The king and his men hope to use God, after twenty chapters of refusing to be used by him. Today it's said many Christians view God as a cosmic butler.  Do I do this?

Romans 7:13-25. Have I had this experience of two selves seeming to be at war within me? Is it going on even now? What is God's answer?

Matthew 13:1-9. Honestly comparing my own heart to this depiction, what are the "growing conditions" for God's word within me right now? Biggest plus factor? Biggest minus?
