Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 24:1-10. Verse 10, at this season, if a friend asks how as a modern person I can entrust my life to someone called "this King of glory," how would I answer?
Habakkuk 1:1-17. When have I wondered if God was shutting his eyes to evil and allowing horrible things to happen? How did I come to terms with it?
John 12:12-19. King of glory, continued. How are Christians even now prone to place false expectations on Jesus? Do I do that myself?
Matthew 21:1-11. Why did it matter then that Jesus fulfilled scriptural prophecies, in this case Zechariah 9:9? Why does it matter to me now? How does this modify our notion of his kingship?
