Bible Wednesday 4/11: Bread

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:1-24. Verse 15 KJV, what are three of God's basic precepts or foundational truths? During this day how can I faithfully meditate on them, ponder them, go deeper with them?

Ezekiel 11:1-25. Verse 19, by what evidence might people conclude I have a stony heart? Is it getting worse or better? What's the evidence that God is giving me a fleshy heart?

I Corinthians 11:17-26. Verses 24 and 25, what did Jesus mean by requiring "remembrance of me" as we take the bread and the cup? To obey, what must I always do and never do?

John 6:22-40. Verse 35, in calling himself the bread of life, what else besides holy communion was Jesus referring to? What specific hunger and thirst in me was he offering to satisfy? Status?
