Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 89:1-52. Verses 1, 2, 8, 24, 33, what are some synonyms for God's faithfulness? What worry or problem right now calls on me to trust his faithfulness entirely?
II Samuel 5:1-25. Verse 23, when has God guided me contrary to logic or common sense, with a good result? Present application? (Note: Yesterday's post covered chapter 6, mislabeled as chapter 5.)
Acts 13:29-41. Verse 39, salvation by faith not by works. How do I sometimes attempt to earn God's love or approval? Antidote for today?
Mark 1:1-13. Verses 9-13, has it ever seemed the Holy Spirit was sending me triumphs and trials in pairs? Why would he do that? What was the outcome?
