Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:121-144. Verse 128 KJV, what are some false ways I am to hate if I truly love God? Which of those most easily creep into my thoughts and conduct? Action point?
II Samuel 8:1-18. Military and governmental overview of David's reign. Who are the support staff at my church, unsung heroes who keep the place going? How is God glorified through them?
Acts 14:1-18. Verses 11-13, same question reversed. Who in my church, or in the church at large, might Satan target for self-glorification or proud ego? What are God's remedy & my role?
Mark 1:21-28. Verse 22, why did listeners find Jesus, the unknown Galilean, more authoritative in speaking than the scribes? How can I, in serving him, tap into that winsome persuasiveness?
