Bible Friday 7/27: My Upholders

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 54:1-7. Verse 4 KJV, sometimes God answers our prayers through people. What individuals do the most to uphold my soul? How are they conduits for His love?

I Kings 14:1-31. Is the hard fate of these kings and their people, God's fault or their own? In our country today, what's the equivalent of Ahijah's prophetic voice to Jeroboam?

Acts 24:22 - 25:12. Verses 27 and 9, Roman officials' favoritism to the Jews. What belief system wields the most political influence in America right now? What can I and my church do about it?

Mark 7:14-23. From Jesus' catalog of evils in the human heart, which are most obvious in myself? Which are less obvious but still subtly present? Prayer point?
