Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 102:1-28. Verse 2 KJV, weighing each word here, is God this real to me, this personal? Am I this real with him about my troubles? Do I have this kind of solid expectation when I pray?
II Kings 13:1-25. Verses 5, 6, 23, God meets his people more than halfway. When has he done this for me? What did I do to thank and repay him?
Philippians 2:12-18. Verse 15 KJV, how well do I and my church meet this standard amidst the evil and wickedness of our times? Are we harmless and blameless, or do we fight fire with fire?
Mark 10:32-34. Jesus' detailed foreknowledge of his passion shows how selfless is his love, how perfect is his omniscience. What shall I ask in faith that this risen Lord will do for me today?
