Bible Monday 10/8: What's True?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verse 37, in what way, besides abortion, do Americans today tragically sacrifice their sons and daughters? What can I and my church do about it?

Ezra 5:1-17. What power structures and entrenched interests does my church threaten? How do they try to stop us building the kingdom? What’s our defense? My role?

I John 5:14-21. Verse 20 KJV, going through this day, how shall I center on Jesus for all the understanding I need? How shall I make him my ultimate standard for “what’s true”?

Luke 6:37-42. Verse 41, when have I been in this position, focusing on the other person’s small fault while overlooking my own much bigger fault? What did I learn? Present application?
