Bible Thursday 10/4: The Twelve

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 105:1-45. Verses 17-22, what is there in Joseph’s walk with God from which I can draw strength and guidance today?

Job 41:1-34. Verse 34, what habits of thought and conduct would place me among those whom God calls “the children of pride”? Action point?

Ezra 1:1-11. King Cyrus exemplifies the non-believer whom God providentially uses to help his people? Is God still doing this in our times? How should I respond? Points of caution?

Luke 6:12-16. Evaluating all his disciples, what did Jesus see in these men that caused him to choose them as the Twelve? How can I grow more into that spiritual stature today?
