Bible Monday 1/7: But Why?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 103:1-22. Verse 5, if God renewed my youth, making me half my present age, what would I want to regain or redo? Isn’t that essentially the promise here, if I trust him enough?

Genesis 7:1-24. Noah given a week’s warning. When have I obeyed God in seeming disregard of common sense or others’ opinions? Present application?

I Peter 3:13-22. Baptism likened to Noah’s rescue. What relevance does this have to me?

Matthew 3:13-17. In what practical way can I imitate the self-emptying of Jesus, astounding even to his cousin John?
