Bible Monday 2/4: New Name

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 57:1-11. Verse 4 KJV, what “lions” of evil beset my soul today? What is my defense against each, in God?

Genesis 35:1-29. Verse 10, if God were to give me a new name right now, looking back and looking ahead, what qualities or experiences would it represent? Action point?

Hebrews 9:1-10. Verses 2-4, how are these symbols of man approaching God completed and superseded in the Lord’s Supper of Christians?

Matthew 10:1-15. Verses 9 and 10, traveling light for Jesus. How shall I apply this today?
