Bible Thursday 3/21: Iron on Iron

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 20:1-9. Verse 5, banners for God. Spiritually, what flag do I serve under in the battles of this day?

Proverbs 27:1-27. Verse 17, iron sharpens iron. Who is especially valuable right now in making me a better person? Together, how can the two of us do more for the kingdom of God?

Galatians 2:1-10. How are Paul and Peter an instance of iron sharpening iron? What can my church learn from their example of collaborating for the gospel?

Matthew 19:1-12. Verses 4 and 8, Jesus reasons “from the beginning” about who we are and how we are to live. How can I participate in this? Why does the worldly mind reject it?
