Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 84:1-12. Verse 10 KJV, doorkeeper for God. Whom does he want me to let in, whom to keep out? If his “house” is my own mind and heart, what is the test for do or don’t let in? Application for today?
Proverbs 23:1-35. Verse 10 KJV, what old landmarks are my family, my church, my community, or my country tempted to remove right now? Why does God warn us not to?
Titus 2:1-15. Landmarks of Christian behavior. Are my family and my church more counter-cultural or culturally conformist? Verse 14, do we live worthily of Christ crucified?
Matthew 18:6-9. What severe self-correction is Jesus expecting of me—for my good and in love for him—that I have been putting off?
