Bible Thursday 5/23: Don't Just Sip

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 71:1-24. Verses 5-9, am I clear that both youth and age are in God’s hand, full of opportunities to glorify him? What points of doubt or anxiety about this can I lay before him today?

Exodus 25:1-40. Verses 9 and 40, God’s exact pattern for how we are to honor him. Am I too casual and sporadic in my daily devotions to the Father, Son, and Spirit?

I Corinthians 6:12-20. Verses 19 and 20, the body as God’s temple. Do I miss this through an overly spiritual or metaphysical faith? Am I a truly incarnational Christian? Action point for today?

John 7:25-39. Verse 37, what exactly are the thirst and the drink Jesus is speaking of here? Have I been merely sipping from him? How can I drink deeper of the living Christ today?
